Win “Sit Down” Silver Disc

Raffle to raise funds for cancer Appeal.

I am raffling my silver disc for James “Sit Down” single presented to me in 1991, to raise funds for my friend’s son’s cancer appeal

Joel is the 19 year old son of Ian Runacres, singer with Manchester band Dislocation Dance, with whom I played trumpet before joining James. Joel was diagnosed last year with glioblastoma, a highly aggressive brain tumour, on the eve of him starting his University studies. The only hope of treatment to prolong Joel’s life is a pioneering vaccine which has to be made specially from Joel’s own brain tissue, which is extremely expensive.

To add to the many events and donations that have been set up to raise the money for this treatment, I have donated my British Phonograph Industry Silver Disc that was presented to me for James’ iconic hit “Sit Down” and, rather than auction it to the highest bidder, I want to give all fans of the band a chance to win this unique piece of Manchester music memorabilia and band history.

Raffle tickets to win the disc cost £5 each, with every penny going to the appeal for Joel’s treatment.

Entries are welcomed from fans overseas, you can pay by card, in sterling – although you may need to register with Raffall by email rather than via Facebook. Please check with your bank regarding transaction fees and charges.
